"How should I price this? Per seat or per usage?"What a competitor teardown looks like
Competitor teardown: online booking for independent dog groomers (UK). Example: Tidy Paws, a fictional company. Summary - All three lead with "save time on admin". None lead with fewer no-shows, which is the top complaint in their reviews [7][9]. - GroomBook is the cheapest entry point (£19/mo) but charges per staff member, so a 2-person salon pays £38 [1]. - Nobody offers a deposit at booking on their entry plan [1][3][5]. Gaps you can use 1. No-shows are the loudest pain, and nobody leads with it. 14 of 60 sampled reviews mention no-shows or late cancellations [7][9]. (Evidence) 2. Deposits are locked behind higher tiers. Entry plans at all three exclude them [1][3][5]. (Evidence) 3. Solo groomers are underserved. Two competitors show only 5+ staff salons in case studies [4][6]. (Inference) Sources [1] GroomBook pricing page, groombook.example/pricing, read 2026-10-24
